Eating Out - Malta has a choice of everything from fast food restaurants to speciality restaurants so whether you want to try typical Maltese food or something more familiar you will not have far to look.

Typical costs - 3 course meal - £15, pint of beer - £1.50, bottle of wine - £5 and a glass os wine - £1.20

Specialities - include fish dishes, locally grown produce (eg grapes, figs, oranges & pomegranites), timpana (macaroni in pastry with liver, eggs, onion & aubergine) and pastizzi (pastry filled with peas or cheese).

Tipping - it is customary give a 10% tip to the waiter if you are happy with the service.

Souvenirs - include lace, blown glass, pottery, knitwear and the eight pointed Maltese cross.
